Israeli artist Mira Rama will be visiting Sirani Gallery the weekend of February 20th.
In her art, Mira shares a magical world filled with whimsy and joy. She combines acrylic paint with handmade paper to create beautiful domestic interiors and gardens that are filled with not only beautiful flowers, but also bunnies, bikes, balloons and other icons of happiness and joy.
Mira herself explains that from a very young age, she "would sail away on an imaginary voyage, which I filled with the places and things I found in magazines. I created little stories and, by freeing them from their paper prisons, I was convinced in my head that I was enabling them to take off - and become part of the real world." Today her imaginary places fill one with wonder and happiness.
Meet the artist on February 20th from 11am to 9pm and February 21st and 22nd from 12pm to 4pm. In addition, Mira will present a gallery talk on Saturday, February 20th at 5:30pm.
